If you are anything like most people you may find the application process confusing and wonder if your application going to pass muster. We are here to help.
If you are a member of the association, will will hold your hand throughout the process including reviewing your application prior to submittal. If we review prior to submitting, your application will jump to the front of the line at ADOT Dealer Licensing saving you up to two weeks in the process.

Typical timeline:
- New dealer starts application process (start completing all the forms and start pulling together necessary documents)
- Join AIADA (if you are not already a member) and receive assistance for any questions you may have
- Meet with AIADA for packet review
- Gather any missing components identified in initial review
- Finalize packet and receive approval to proceed from AIADA (signed cover letter attached to packet)
- Deliver packet to ADOT and await any further correspondence from ADOT
- Receive license 4 to 6 weeks later
Note: the background check takes 4 to 6 weeks to complete. If you are already a dealer and have a dealer background check that was completed less than 5 years earlier, you will not require an additional background check. In this circumstance, your dealer application will only take a few days if pre-reviewed by AIADA.
