The AIADA is here to help you apply for your Arizona dealer license. 

When you are ready, we can get together to go over your application. We will work together to make sure it is ready to send off to Dealer Licensing. We review your application for completeness, upload the application, and submit it to dealer licensing.

Cost to review and upload all the paperwork for the license:

Application Checklist

At the bottom of this checklist you will find instructions for uploading documents gathered as you go through the following checklist. 

  1. Find Location (Must be zoned for an auto dealership. Cannot be located at the same address of another business. If a suite, must have an external entrance to the suite)
  2. Form Business Entity with Arizona Corporation Commission: https://www.azcc.gov/ 
  3. Get $100,000 Bond. Garage Liability/Dealer Bond Programs | AIADA (memberzone.com) We will need the original of the bond in our hands before we can submit your application. It is the only original that must have.
  4. Order and install signage for dealership. Signage must indicate that you sell motor vehicles. For example: ABC Auto Sales, or ABC Imports Quality Auto Sales, or Affinity RV Sales and Service

  10. Print Articles of Organization for business entity created with Corporation Commission.
  11. Print copy of the Lease (must include signatures of leasee and leasor.)

  13. Complete and sign MVDNOW Applications. NOTE: The email address used in the highlighted area of each form needs to be unique from each other and neither email can be any email already used on an existing MVDNOW account.

  14. Get fingerprints. See Fingerprint Process below
  15. Generate hardcopy of pictures to accompany application
    1. All 4 exterior sides of building
    2. Front door with key in lock
    3. Lot with space to park at least 2 vehicles
    4. Signage that illustrates appropriate size of text for dealership name
    5. Hours of operation that matches what is on you dealer application
    6. Interior of building with office furniture and computer(s)
    7. Records retention (can be office or filing cabinet) with a key in the lock
    8. Other entrances
    9. Address (address of the building and suite number if applicable)

Once the application has been submitted, it will normally take 4 to 6 weeks for Dealer Licensing to respond.  Feel free to contact us any time to get a status update. 

Fingerprint Process

To get started each applicant will need to register and pay via the Arizona Applicant Processing Services

The Applicant Registration User Guide will provide you with the step by step instructions for how the process works.
